Pranamudra was born in 2022 (a.k.a. Kaliyuga 5125) from the idea of creating a brand inspired by Mudras, Prana and Mount Kailash. We try to create high value products that will stand the test of time both aesthetically and physically, because Kaliyuga is long and we try to face it with the right spirit and equipment.
We do not presume to save anyone but intend to make known concepts, gestures or places that are very ancient but, in our view, extremely modern. Even we creators come from different backgrounds and eras, the things that unite us in this project are absurdly so far from us in time and space that sometimes we seem to be hypnotized by the naturalness with which we are directed toward our goals.
Who we are
Vision
Pranamudra is a hand position of joining the tip of the thumb with the tips of the index and ring fingers, leaving the index and middle fingers extended. This mudra balances vital energy and is believed to improve vision and mental and physical balance. For us, sound, word and gesture have served as the basis of inspiration for what our brand is and will be.
Starting small, our purpose is to protect ourselves by preserving our life breath (prana) with a seal (mudra). Our logo is the word PRANA in devanagari (an Indian alphabet), it represents “CHI” in Chinese and “KI” in Japanese, for us it also represents research, study and readings, it is putting seeds…growing new ideas and projects.
And then there is Mount Kailash…which represents for the pranamudra crew a place of great symbolic importance.
Mount Kailash is a mountain located in the Chinese region of Himalayan Tibet that is held sacred by many religions, including Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. It signifies to us the idea of an elevated and inaccessible place.
We began by fantasizing about a word written in an unfamiliar alphabet that has absorbed us and is changing us as we grow with its many meanings. Bhairava is momentum.

The astonishing vision of Pranamudra
- Our direction is cosmic, our origin microscopic.
- Our garment numbers are limited – we are not interested in making mass products to fill the planet with even more uselessness – we are interested instead in our garments being durable and of high quality.
- Alternative to mass brands, luxury brands and all those fads that last as long as the leaves on the trees.
- Prāna, mantras and mudras are foundational realities of our product.
- We are interested in T’ai Chi Ch’uan, the sacred mountain Kailash, Yoga, Indian epics, we are interested in reading Abhinavagupta’s Tantrāloka a thousand times, we are interested in learning Akira Kurosawa’s 7 Samurai by heart, we are interested in the sky, clouds, thunder, wind, darkness and light in tunnels and forests.
- We are simply rastaoists of the non-dual Kula Kashmira school of the left hand, which means we listen to Bob Marley and Alton Ellis and read Chuang tsu, Old Lieh tsu, Vasugupta and Kśemarāja.
